Twenty years ago Orlando hosted the NBA All Star game in the now closed O-rena.  Everyone calls it one of the most memorable games because of the MVP performance by Magic Johnson who had recently announced he had contracted the HIV virus.  Tonight, Orlando hosted another exciting, memorable, fast-paced game that saw the WEST All Stars beat the EAST All Stars by a score of 152-149.  Although it did not carry the emotional ties as in 1992, there was plenty of drama towards the end and it will be remembered fondly as well. NBA KICKING INTO HIGH GEAR IN DAY TWO

Day two at the All Star events in Orlando, Fl started early press conferences were served for breakfast. The head of USA basketball Jerry Colangelo started off by announcing the upcoming grueling summer schedule for the USA Men and Women’s Olympic teams. Games over the summer include contests against the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Argentina, and the highlighted gold medal re-match against Spain. The rematch happens to be on the 20th anniversary of the USA “Dream Team” and will be played in Barcelona. Continue reading
