Airline salutes service members with Boeing 757 christened the “Spirit of Freedom”

Delta Air Lines  today capped a three-day celebration of veterans with a $350,000 gift to the Fisher House Foundation at Reagan National Airport (DCA) in Washington, D.C. The airline kicked off its military salute in Atlanta on Friday, Nov. 9, with the dedication of the “Spirit of Freedom,” a Boeing 757 honoring men and women who currently serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, including more than 10,000 Delta employees.

Solar Bears Get One From, Send One to AHL Affiliate

Orlando, FL – The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that D Corbin Baldwin has been returned to the Solar Bears from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Houston Aeros, Corbin Baldwinwhile LW Nick Petersen has been recalled to Houston.

Baldwin was recalled to Houston on November 3, and has since played three games with the Aeros. The 6’5″, 215 pound defenseman has one goal and five penalty minutes with Houston. Prior to being recalled, Baldwin had played in all nine Solar Bears games, picking  up two assists along with seven penalty minutes. Continue reading →

United Way 5K Run/Walk Has Raised $2.2 Million and Helped Move 12,000 into Permanent Housing.

Part of United Way’s campaign to end poverty in L.A. County, HomeWalk is a 5K run/walk to raise    public awareness and fund solutions to end    homelessness, an extreme form of poverty.
