Orlando Brazilian Community gives an important step in the direction of creating a Rotary Club of their own

In a great event at Cafe Mineiro Steakhouse, the Brazilian Community in Orlando had a meeting with the presence of the District Governor Rotary of  Orlando, Richard A. Baines, Rotary International District 6980, who spoke to the Community about  his life as a Rotarian, reminding every one of the main reason in a Rotarian mission.

“Encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  • FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
  • SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
  • THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;
  • FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service”.

Following with many testimonies of Rotarian members  such as Nelson Freitas, Marcelle Marcia Lyra, and Marcia Van Guilder, there is no doubt that Orlando will be able to count with another Rotary Club dedicated to service in the Orlando Community. In reality, years ago Rotary members were all men, and the women were Rotarian Member’s spouses, dedicated to help on the husband’s mission. Today Rotary open it’s doors to women in the whole world  accepting a new reality and it multiplied it’s task force. The spokesperson for the night was Wal Rosa that has been involved swith the idea since the beginning, along with Marcia Van Guilder, and many other ladies  from the Brazilian Community. We are all happy with this advancement for the Community, and also that the initiative was made by people who were able to get the idea ahead, with the District Governor’s Support .

Many Directors of the Central Florida Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce were present to support, along with their President Amy Litter.

It was a night to be celebrated, remembered with more than 85 guests, that were picked by their will to help, and will be honored to serve.

One more time Cafe Mineiro provided the best service, and was under G.M.  Cylon Rosa Rodrigues  supervision . Great food and service, our sincere gratitude to Daniel the owner and his crew.
