Throughout the past year, the Conductive Education Center of Orlando (CECO) has seen increases to its school-day numbers by 10 percent and its after-school programs by 20 percent.
Without grant assistance from the Orlando Magic Youth Fund, a McCormick Foundation Fund (OMYF-MFF), those numbers might be in reverse and more children with motor disabilities might be in need.
A $100,000 grant from the OMYF-MFF helped CECO add an additional conductor, more supplies and greatly expand the numbers of children that they can reach. And those aren’t the only numbers on the rise at CECO. Test scores among children with motor and cognitive disabilities have also steadily climbed the past year.
