CITY OF ORLANDO’S DOWNTOWN ARTS DISTRICT ELECTS NEW OFFICERS


 

The Downtown Arts District, a dedicated nonprofit organization for advancing arts and economic development in the City of Orlando, announces its newly elected officers for fiscal year 2012-2013. 

The new board officers are: Chairman Donna Dowless, President of XOXO Media Group; Co-Chairman and Incoming Chairman David Wheeler, Vice President and General Manager of .Com Marketing; Vice-Chairman and Chairman-Elect Shanon Larimer, Associate Principal and Vice President of Baker Barrios Architects; Treasurer Jacques Blais, Partner of Vestal and Wiler CPA’s; and Secretary Tiffany Sanders, Marketing Director at JHT, Inc.

The officers will oversee the management and operations of the Downtown Arts District, CityArts Factory, and a 20-member Board.

DOWNTOWN ARTS DISTRICT

The Downtown Arts District, established in 2000, is a dedicated nonprofit organization for advancing arts and economic development in the City of Orlando. Through visibility campaigns and local outreach, the Downtown Arts District aims to lead, stimulate, and grow the development of a vibrant, innovative arts and cultural district in Downtown.

The Arts District is the parent company to CityArts Factory – a 20,000 sq.-ft. multi-use arts and cultural destination visited by more than 60,000 people annually.  Additionally, the Arts District is the producer of a series of mission-based events which heighten visibility for the arts including the monthly Third Thursday Gallery Hop and Art Walk, Young Artists Group, signature artist showcase series, the annual La Maschera themed arts celebration, and the award-winning network, OrlandoSlice.com.  For more information, visit www.orlandoslice.com.
