New York was always a challenge, from the Brazilian eye that I still have, the Big Apple was always a very desirable destination and I had just to take the leap and jump into it. My daughter lives in NY and I wanted to visit her, so it was just natural to embrace the opportunity. Besides the happiness of seeing my baby, and have her show me her version of NY, and its best places, I can tell you, I was sold the moment I arrived.
I took the train which also gave me a l long perspective of the East Cost of the US and the chance to see the many faces of this incredible country. America is the land of brave beautiful people, that I have learned to love and call home for almost 26 years, but now more than never, because I can say I know it much better than before. So the trip by train had a duration of 24 hours and the scenery is great. The first impression you have of NY upon arrival is Penn Station and the immediate transition from your train to the Subway. For a first timer like me it seemed like the Subway is a creature of its own where you enter in direct contact with the NY population, all of it, all at once. It is powerful, scary and a strong impression that will give the right to observe as a local and not as a turist, if you think about thinking outside the box, forget it, experience NY is a dive in the heart of this concrete world where you will fall in love with every inch of ground you visit. From Central Park to Manhattan , every step of the way, everything is larger than you ever imagined and better. The people are always running but they will always say hello if they can and a smile can get you much further than you think. Everyone I spoke is proud to be where they are a part of this magic land that offers so much to millions that live, visit and travel through it everyday. I had moments that allowed me to touch my Faith, my heart, and my mind has thankfully many great memories about it. I visited everything I could guided by my daughter and I can not say enough about it. Overwhelming is not enough but through my lenses, I have NY on Camera and I wanted to share it with you.
