More than 2,000 emergency managers from around the United States and the world will be in Orlando, Fla., to attend the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) 60thAnnual Conference and EMEX 2012, Oct. 26-Nov.1, at the Orange County Convention Center. The conference theme is Resiliency: Building a Better Tomorrow. IAEM’s EMEX Exhibit brings together homeland security and disaster preparedness suppliers. More than 150 suppliers will exhibit the latest technologies available to local emergency managers.
This IAEM flagship event draws members of the largest professional organization for emergency managers and homeland security officials to help leaders prepare for disasters that could strike their communities. The conference sessions are designed to provide a forum for current trends and hot topics, as well as tools and technology in emergency management and homeland security.

- Dan Norris, CMCT, who specializes in the science of ethical influence
- Chris Clarke-Epstein, CSP, whose most recent book is 78 Important Questions Every Leader Should Ask and Answer
- Rebecca Costa, an authority on complex problem solving and author of The Watchman’s Rattle
- Madhu Beriwal who was the corporate architect of “Hurricane Pam,” an innovative scenario-based exercise that drove catastrophic hurricane planning for 13 parishes and more than 300 participants in Southeastern Louisiana.
The Annual Conference will feature more than70 break-out presentations from issue experts.
