Orlando Philharmonic and Full Sail University
Join Forces for Another High-Tech “Symphony in HD” Gala
Symphony in HD: Live at Full Sail University will raise funds for the orchestra
(Orlando, FL – March 2, 2013) On Friday, May 31, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will once again join forces with Full Sail University to present Symphony in HD: Live at Full Sail University, a high-tech concert gala to benefit the orchestra. Held at Full Sail Live (141 University Park Drive, Winter Park), the event will feature the full Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Christopher Wilkins, in a concert accompanied by animation, film, lighting effects and other visual elements created by students and faculty of Full Sail University.
“We are incredibly lucky to collaborate with the phenomenally creative team of faculty and staff at Full Sail University,” says Orlando Philharmonic Executive Director David Schillhammer. “Developing the program has stretched the creative talents of both organizations, and the result is going to be an intersection of music and technology unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.”
“I am thrilled that Full Sail University and the Orlando Philharmonic are uniting again for a remarkable evening benefiting an organization that enriches our community and culture each and every season,” said Jay Noble, Event Producer, Full Sail University. “Through this dynamic collaboration our students and staff are challenged with creating a unique and larger than life visual environment that will become an extension of selections performed by the Philharmonic.”
Symphony in HD begins at 6:30 p.m. with drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction on Full Sail’s Hollywood-style film set, the Backlot, a facility that features various scenic facades from around the globe. At 8 p.m., guests will enter Full Sail Live to enjoy a three-course meal and a concert program entitled “Music of the Night,” featuring the full Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and guest appearance by former Broadway ‘Phantom,’ Davis Gaines, accompanied by visuals from Full Sail’s students and faculty.
The evening also includes a live auction and an outdoor post-concert party with Orlando Philharmonic musicians and Full Sail faculty.
Tickets to the event are $250 per person. Corporate tables and sponsorships are available. All proceeds will benefit the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. For more information about Symphony in HD, to purchase tickets or to become a sponsor, visitOrlandoPhil.org/HD or call 407-896-6700 x236.
