Forward Scored Four Points in Eight Games with Orlando

Orlando, FL – The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Nick McParland for the 2013-14 season.

McParland (6’1″, 201 lbs.) played in each of the final eight games for the Solar Nick McParlandBears last season, scoring two goals and adding two assists for four points. Both of McParland’s goals came in his professional debut against the Gwinnett Gladiators on March 17. The 26 year old forward joined the Solar Bears after completing a four-year career at Lake Superior State University (NCAA). In 142 games with LSSU, McParland notched 48 goals and 74 assists for 122 points. His best statistical season came in 2011-12, where as a junior he scored 14 goals and added on 13 assists for 27 points in 39 games. That season, the Screiber, Ontario, native led Lake Superior State in goals and finished second in points.
