BOX PARK MIAMI Looking To Change The Way You Look At Food

MIA-BoxPark-405New farm to table concept officially opened on October 1st with presentation by Mayor Tomas Regalado

BOX PARK is looking to change the way South Floridians look at food one bite at a time. Located on 1111 SW 1(st) Ave. Miami, FL. 33130, the new concept will officially opened its doors on October 1, 2013 at 7:00PM with a by-invitation “grand tasting” featuring a presentation by City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado.

There is always a driving force behind every new venture. For BOX PARK MIAMI, Santiago Rodriguez, who spent 15 years with the world-renowned Nobu Restaurant Group, knew he needed to shake the up Miami’s culinary landscape by introducing farm fresh, locally-found foods that will not only tantalize taste buds, but question the quality of food we eat day-to-day.

Located in the heart of Brickell, the 76-seat restaurant (designed by acclaimed interior designer Valerie Pasquiou) showcases trendy yet understated decor. The central focus of the restaurant is the open-air kitchen where one will find Executive Chef Matt Hinckley who doesn’t mind pushing the boundaries of people’s perception of food. Hinckley stated: “I want to change the way people eat and to ask more questions about where their food comes from. I want people to slow down, spend some time at the dinner table, eat socially, share food, and know the farmers that grow it.  When people are connected to their food it tastes better.  The best tomato that you will ever eat is the tomato that you grew and nurtured in your own backyard or balcony.  I let ingredients do all of the work.  I have an intuition as to what flavors work well together and I let nature do the rest.”

Executive Chef Matt Hinckley’s true talents reside in creating unique dishes with fresh, seasonal, and locally-found foods. The menu offers a wonderland of flavors to include the Fried Alligator, three-month Aged Duck Confit with Sweet Potato Hash, Spiced Chickpea Stew, Seared Guinea Hen, and Grass-Fed Bone-In NY strip. Vegetarians will find a home at BOX PARK MIAMI as numerous composed meat-free dishes are featured like the Ancient Grain Salad, which is made with freekeh, quinoa, goji berries, beans, sprouts, and raw nuts.

All palates welcome for a unique journey in the world of gastronomy!

BOX PARK is now open from 12 Noon-11:00PM on Tuesdays-Thursdays and 12 Noon- 12 Midnight on Fridays and 6PM- 12 Midnight on Saturdays, and Brunch from noon to 6:00PM. Located at 1111 SW 1st Ave., Miami, Fla.
