BLACKTAPEart PRESENTS ITS DEBUT EXHIBIT, A BLACKTAPE EVENT, TO COINCIDE WITH THE 11TH EDITION OF ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH 2013
Miami, November 2013 – “A Blacktape Event” is BLACKTAPEart’s debut exhibit. It will be held from December 5th through the 8th at 3500 North Miami Avenue in Miami’s Wynwood Art District. The exhibit includes about 30 pieces by 6 artists from different backgrounds and latitudes who share a common experience and passion for innovative and transforming art practices.
BLACKTAPEart is a collective founded by Sophia Tragash from Miami and Grannell Knox from New York City. Their mission is to build a network of artists to create exposure opportunities to showcase a new and groundbreaking movement with bold works in all media.
The artists include: From Miami Sophia Tragash – Visual artist, Rafael Rodriguez – Visual artist, and Juan Cogar – Visual artist. From New York: Grannell Knox – Filmmaker / Photographer, Joe Bussiere – Poet / Musician, Will Kaiser – Visual artist.
“As artists ourselves, we founded BLACKTAPEart to create exposure and build a network for artists,” explained Sophia Tragash, co-founder of BLACKTAPEart. “We are creating opportunities to showcase what we have to offer. We are proud to kickoffBLACKTAPEart in Miami, and we are working towards future events between Miami and New York.”
By coming together in different disciplines from painting, to music, to installations and experimental film, the six artists are creating an all-sensorial experience that will push the boundaries of the conventional.
“The combination of mediums is a means to ecstasy,” said Grannell Knox, co-founder of BLACKTAPEart.
The exhibit will be open to the public from December 5th thru the 8th from 6:30 to 10:00 P.M. The exhibit can be viewed by appointment any other time.
