Orlando and Toledo Face Off Again Tomorrow Night
Toledo, OH – D Cody Wild and F Jacob Cepis each notched three points and six different players scored for the Solar Bears as Orlando took a 7-3 victory over the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center on Friday night.
The Solar Bears got out to a strong start, tallying three goals in the opening period. F Tyler Murovich got the Solar Bears on the board at 13:35 when he collected a rebound in front of the net and slipped a backhand shot over the line. Orlando increased their lead to 2-0 at 18:05 when F Michael Catenacci fed a pass to F Scott Tanski and he blasted a one-timer into the top right corner of the net. A late Walleye penalty led to the final goal of the first period when D Blake Kessel fired a shot from the left point off the goalpost and into the back of the net to help the Solar Bears take a 3-0 lead into the second frame.
Two quick Walleye goals in the middle period brought the game to a one goal difference. First, just 50 seconds into the frame, F Travis Novak wristed a shot from the high slot off the post and into the net. F Alden Hirschfeld then brought the score to 3-2 on a one-time shot from on top of the goal crease at 3:32. Less than a minute later, Orlando answered when F Jacob Cepis found himself wide open in front of the net and deposited a backhand shot past G Jared Coreau. Murovich then knocked home his second of the game when he finished off a 2-on-1 chance on a pass from Tanski to give the Solar Bears a 5-2 lead after two.
Less than three minutes into the third period, the Solar Bears increased their lead to 6-2. F Mickey Lang took a pass from Cepis, skated to top of the right circle, and snapped a shot into the bottom left corner of the net. Wild then notched his third point of the game at 6:37 after collecting a puck off the end board and sliding a shot inside the left post. Toledo earned a 5-on-3 power play moments later, and F Aaron Clarke struck with the the two-man advantage, but it was as close as Toledo would get. G Cody Reichard stopped 32 of the 35 shots he faced as Orlando took the 7-3 victory.

The Solar Bears extended their winning streak to seven games.
