Tax Collector Saves Taxpayers Millions By Moving Out Of Sun Trust
ORANGE – At today’s County Commission meeting, the Board of Commissioners unanimously voted in agreement with the Tax Collector’s proposal to move our offices out of the Sun Trust building and into a more cost-efficient and accessible location near the Fashion Square Mall on Maguire Blvd. From Tax Collector Randolph:
“I am very happy the county has agreed to move out of the Sun Trust building and into the proposed Maguire location. This is the best deal for taxpayers. We worked diligently for several months to find a location that would allow us to consolidate lease costs while providing more accessibility for customers, and came up with a solution that will save taxpayers millions of dollars over the next several years. I look forward to continuing to work with the county commission.”
The Sun Trust lease currently costs $1.22 million per year for the Tax Collector and Property Appraiser and expires at the end of 2014.
