Funds raised support Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign ending childhood hunger in America
In America, 1 in 5 children struggles with hunger. This September, Texas de Brazil is joining thousands of restaurants nationwide to support Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry(®) campaign by raising funds in their restaurants.
During the entire month of September, Texas de Brazil® is offering incentives to help encourage guests to donate to the No Kid Hungry campaign. Guests that donate $1 will receive a complimentary dessert on a return visit. If the guest donates $5 or more, they will receive $10 off dinner for up to 8 guests on a return visit! The best part, 100% of the donation goes to No Kid Hungry. For more information on Texas de Brazil and this September event, visit TexasdeBrazil.com and NoKidHungry.org.
“Through the No Kid Hungry campaign, $1 provides up to 10 meals to a child that is facing hunger,” stated Salim Asrawi, Chief Operating Officer of Texas de Brazil. “No child should have to face that adversity and Texas de Brazil is honored to support this cause and provide our guests with an opportunity to get involved as well.”
In 2013, nearly 9,000 restaurants raised $7.5 million for the No Kid Hungry campaign. No Kid Hungry funds are used to raise awareness about child hunger in the U.S., create public-private partnerships that align kids with the resources they need, support nutrition programs like School Breakfast and Summer Meals; and educate kids and their families on how to cook healthy meals with limited resources.
“Everyone–private citizens, businesses, policymakers, and nonprofits–has a role in helping end childhood hunger in America,” said Billy Shore, Founder and CEO of Share Our Strength. “I encourage everyone to dine out often at participating restaurants wherever they are this September. Then visit NoKidHungry.org to join this national movement to ensure that every child in America has access to the nutritious food they need, every day.”
