Pernambuco celebrates action of Tourism of the State in the USA
Between 9 and 18 September, about 450 American travel trade professionals participated in the actions of the ‘Polo Coast Reef’
In recent years, the flow of foreign tourists in Pernambuco has increased considerably, especially due to the Confederations Cup in 2012 and World Cup in 2014 with the aim of attracting more foreign visitors, particularly for the Pernambuco coast , the Secretary of Tourism of Pernambuco (PE-Sethur) through the Tourism Company of Pernambuco (Empetur), launched the promotional campaign “Polo Coast Arrecife” which in September toured five cities in the United States. In total, the event, which is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, met between the 9th and 18th of September, about 450 professionals tradeamericano tourism.
Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York and Miami in the United States were the first cities to receive the action that discloses the Pernambuco coast, since the country ranks first in issuers of foreign visitors to Pernambuco. “The choice of these cities took into account the sales ranking of major carriers, the growth of these markets and accessibility provided by the Miami-Recife direct flight operated by American Airlines,” said the executive secretary of Sethur-PE, Luciana Carvalho.
In the United States, each event lasted five hours, with roundtables, cocktail, cultural presentation and lecture about the Pernambuco attractions.
