  1. Magic To Hold Open Practice Tonight
    • The Magic will host a free public open practice on Monday, October 20 at Amway Center (doors open at 5:30 p.m., practice starts at 6:30 p.m.). Tickets are required for the event, but can be downloaded for FREE by going to www.orlandomagic.com/openpractice.
  2. Preseason coming to a close
    • The Orlando Magic will play their final two preseason games this week as they host the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, October 22 before taking on the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, October 24 at Amway Center. Both games are slated to tip-off at 7:00 p.m. ET. The Magic will open up the regular season on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans next Tuesday, October 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET and will hold their home opener against the Washington Wizards on Thursday, October 30 at 7:00 p.m.
  3. NBA Cares Week of Service
    • As part of NBA Cares Week, the Orlando Magic will participate in two community service projects – Hoops for Troops “Commitment to Service” volunteer initiative at The Mustard Seed Furniture and Clothing Bank (12 Mustard Seed Lane, Orlando, 32810) on Tuesday, October 21 from 2:30 p.m. –  5:30 p.m. and Habitat for Humanity Home Dedication (6112 Rhythm Blvd., Orlando, 32808) on Thursday, October 23 from 2:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m. NBA Cares Week events are being led by players, legends, coaches, and executives in an effort to give back to the community in the areas of education, health and wellness and hands-on service.
  4. Pink In The Paint
    • The Orlando Magic and Florida Hospital have come together to host the 2nd Annual Pink in the Paint Breast Cancer Awareness Night this Wednesday, October 22 vs. the Houston Rockets at the Amway Center. During this monumental night, selected Central Florida breast cancer survivors will be hosted as special guest honorees.   5. Magic announce LaVoz 1440 AM as new flagship Spanish radio station
    • The Orlando Magic have announced that La Voz 1440 AM will serve as the team’s new flagship home for Spanish radio broadcasts. Joey Colon will continue to serve as the voice of the Magic in Spanish, handling game play-by-play, pre-game, halftime and post-game analysis.  He will also host a weekly call-in show titled “Inside Magic en Espanol” every Thursday from 6-7 pm on La Voz 1440 AM. During this show, Colon will discuss all the latest information about the Orlando Magic and the NBA, interact with callers, conduct giveaways and provide a source for Magic news in Spanish.  Colon begins his 17th season as the team’s Spanish play-by-play announcer.
  6. The return of Dante andGalante
    • Magic Gameday with Dante and Galante will officially return this week on Wednesday, October 22 prior to Magic’s preseason matchup with the Houston Rockets. The show will air exclusively on OrlandoMagic.com and the Orlando Magic mobile app. More information on the return of the show will be provided this week.
  7. Magic Rewind No. 1 – October 13 at Charlotte Hornets
    • Al Jefferson scored a game-high 20 points, while Jannero Pargo scored all 16 of his points during the fourth quarter, as Charlotte edged Orlando, 99-97, in a preseason game at Time Warner Cable Arena.  Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 14 points for the Hornets.  Ben Gordon led the Magic with 17 points in 19 minutes off the bench, while Elfrid Payton and Tobias Harris each chipped in with 14 points.  Charlotte jumped out to a 36-26 lead after the first quarter.  Orlando responded during the third quarter, outscoring the Hornets, 28-16, and led 78-73 heading into the final stanza.  During the fourth quarter, Pargo exploded, going 6-of-10 from the field, including 2-of-4 from three-point range.  The Magic had a chance to tie in the waning seconds, but a jumper by Payton was off the mark.
  8. Magic Rewind No. 2 – October 15 vs.Flamengo-Brazil
    • Nikola Vučević led six Magic players in double figures with 20 points and 11 rebounds, as Orlando defeated Brazilian-team Flamengo, 106-88, in a preseason game at Amway Center.  Aaron Gordon tallied 15 points and nine rebounds for the Magic, while Tobias Harris added 14 points.  Marcelinho Macahado led Flamengo with 20 points, including 6-of-12 from three-point range.  Orlando shot 53.8 percent from the floor, outrebounded Flamengo, 50-31, and led by as many as 21 points.
  9. Magic Rewind No. 3 – October 17 vs. Detroit Pistons
    • Tobias Harris poured in 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds, as Orlando defeated Detroit, 99-87, in a preseason game at Amway Center.  Five Magic players scored in double figures.  Nikola Vučević netted 18 points, while Kyle O’Quinn and Aaron Gordon each chipped in with 14 points.  Greg Monroe led the Pistons with a game-high 24 points.  Orlando held Detroit to just 37.5 percent shooting from the floor and dished out 25 assists.  The Magic led from start to finish, jumping out to a 32-21 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
  10. Magic Rewind No. 4 – October 18 at Philadelphia76ers
    • Andrew Nicholson led all players with 23 points, but Orlando fell to Philadelphia 95-84 in a preseason game at PPL Center in Allentown, PA. Six of the nine Magic players that played in the game scored in double figures, including 14 points each from Kyle O’Quinn and Maurice Harkless. Drew Gordon, the older brother of Magic forward Aaron Gordon, led the way for the 76ers, scoring a team-high 18 points on 6-9 shooting. Philadelphia jumped out to a 62-38 halftime advantage and led for the remainder of the contest.
