Known for freshly prepared, upscale tavern fare and handcrafted cocktails, Marlow’s Tavern debuts the new winter menu to showcase the flavorful and abundant ingredients of the season. The new menu offers hearty, yet light and satisfying dishes for a unique twist on tavern favorites and seasonal classics.
In addition to several new creations, Executive Chef John C. Metz revamped a few guest favorite dishes, including the Crispy Chicken Stack.
The new Crispy Chicken Stack is served with a Parmesan-barley risotto with caramelized mirepoix, seared wild mushrooms and sautéed spinach, complemented by roasted thyme gravy.
“Winter offers an array of fresh flavors to add seasonality, comfort, and dimension to each dish,” noted Metz. “The Crispy Chicken Stack is one of our signature dishes, yet continually evolves to incorporate a new grain or flavor component to keep it modern and inviting for the foodie in all of us.”
Additional new and updated entrees include:
- Crispy Short Rib with jalapeño and corn grits, sautéed kale and red wine demi reduction
- Grilled “Center Cut” Filet with roasted fingerling potato, seared butternut squash and a red wine shallot reduction
- Pan Seared Snapper with celeriac puree, asparagus, tomato fondue and parslied olive oil
- Lump Crab Cake, served with baby arugula, grapefruit, pickled onion, fresh avocado and jalapeño.
For guests with a sweet tooth, the new Lemon Olive Oil Cake, inspired by a secret Metz family recipe with Italian heritage, is a moist, spongy cake served with a flavorful topping of fresh grapefruit, vanilla syrup and candied orange for a deliciously sweet and tangy combination.
‘Soon to be classic’ handcrafted cocktails are refreshing complements to the dishes, including:
- The Saint – St. George Terroir Gin, Strong Tonic, House-Made Simple Syrup, Fresh Lemon, Sage and a Splash of Club
- Fire On Ice – Novo Fogo Cachaca Gold, Blood Orange Shrub, St Elizabeth Allspice Dram and Lemon “On the Rocks”
