Orlando City Heads to Montreal in Search of Three Points on the Road

unnamed (17)Orlando City Soccer Club (1-1-1, 4 points) looks to return to its winning ways when they face the Montreal Impact (0-1-1, 1 point) at Olympic Stadium on Saturday, March 28. The match will kick off at 4 p.m. ET and will air locally live on FOX35, Fox Sports Florida and the FOX Sports GO app. It will also be broadcast on the radio on Real Radio 104.1 FM and in Spanish on La Grande 1030 AM.

With seven players fulfilling duty with international teams, the Lions’ depth will be tested. “We got a few injuries, we got a few guys away which obviously is not ideal, but it is what it is,” said Orlando City SC Head Coach Adrian Heath referring to the players that will be absent for the match. “Let’s concentrate on the things we can actually control. I’ve always said, one door closes another opens for somebody else. There will be opportunities for a number of our players this weekend who probably have been a bit frustrated at not playing.”

“The whole group has a lot of confidence in the new players that are going to come up and play on Saturday,” said Orlando City Center Back Aurélien Collin. “We are prepared. We’re going there to get a result, and we’re working the whole week for that, to get the win that we didn’t get last week.”

Last week, the Lions drew over 31,000 fans at the Orlando Citrus Bowl for a heated contest against visiting Vancouver Whitecaps FC. Despite dominating most of the game with 60 percent of possession and producing three more attempts on goal, Orlando City conceded a late tally when Raul Octavio Rivero slotted home Pedro Morales’ cross in the 96th minute of play. It was the Club’s first-ever loss in the MLS.

The Impact are still in search of their first season victory heading into the contest.  With an impressive victory over club Alajuelense in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League semifinal, and keeping a clean sheet on an away tie against the New England Revolution, the Montreal Impact hopes to continue their recent form Saturday afternoon.

Orlando City next hosts D.C. United at the Orlando Citrus Bowl on April 3. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
