CouponFollow’s New Savings Guard Technology Fully Automates Couponing for Online Shoppers

Today CouponFollow, a company that specializes in helping consumers find money-saving coupons, unveiled its Savings Guard technology to enhance the company’s popular Coupons at Checkout browser extension.

The new technology works by automatically finding and applying the best money-saving coupon codes for shoppers during their checkout process. With the simple click of a button, Savings Guard applies top coupons to shoppers’ carts to quickly and effortlessly reduce their purchase cost.

On sites such as Target, Kohl’s, Sears, Kmart, and others, which allow shoppers to stack multiple coupons, the Savings Guard technology smartly combines coupon offers together to maximize savings.

“Savings Guard takes the hassle out of finding and applying the best coupons for a shopper’s specific purchase, ensuring consumers maximize their savings potential while avoiding wasting time manually searching for coupons around the Internet,” said CouponFollow’s founder, Marc Mezzacca.

This tool will be essential for budget-conscious holiday shoppers, especially those shopping on Cyber Monday. According to comScore, last year CyberMonday reached $2.038 billion in desktop online spending–which was the most ever in a single day.

“We’re really excited to offer this new technology in time for holiday shopping. It’s a hectic time of year, and, for many shoppers, price comparison and coupon searching have become habit. Savings Guard will save time as well as ensure shoppers don’t miss out on great savings,” added Mezzacca.

Initially, the technology will be available for use on hundreds of popular e-commerce sites in the U.S. for Chrome web browser users who have the extension installed. But CouponFollow expects to release the technology to Firefox and Safari users as well in coming weeks.

E-commerce retailers also benefit from the new technology. Shoppers have come to expect discounts on most purchases and will often leave the shopping cart page to look for coupons before finalizing their transaction. This can lead to shopping cart abandonment, which is a problem throughout the e-commerce industry. Having a readily-available coupon discount during checkout increases the likelihood of shoppers converting on sales.
