Officials from Puerto Rico and Aruba for the Venezuela vs. Guatemala game to be played on June 1st at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale
After tying 1-1 against a Galicia Combined in the last seconds of the match, the Venezuela National Team traveled yesterday to Panama where they will prepare for the international match to be played this Tuesday against the Panamanian National Team. The game will be played at the Rommel Fernandez National Stadium.
Both teams are preparing for their participation in the upcoming Copa America Centenario, to be held from June 3 to 26 in the United States.
For this meeting, the Vinotinto will seek to improve its offensive power, now having the “legionnaires” who have joined the squad for the match against Panama, Jose Salomon Rondon, who had a good season in English football. He will be joined by Josef Martinez, with a great campaign in the Italy’s First Division and by young Adalberto Peñaranda from the Spanish League. Also present will be Roberto Rosales, Juan Pablo Añor and captain Tomas Rincon.
Another promise to be incorporated will be Christian Santos who closed a good season in Holland ending the year with 16 goals in his tally. Santos debuted with the team lead by Coach Rafael Dudamel in the match against the Galicia combined playing 40 minutes of the game.
The final list of players for the Copa America Centenario includes other young talents such as Yonathan del Valle, goalkeeper Wuilker Fariñez and midfielder Yangel Herrera. These last two players are only 18 years old.
After this match, Venezuela travels to Costa Rica to face the World Cup team next May 27 and then they will travel to Florida for the match against the National Team of Venezuela at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale Stadium on Wednesday, June 1. The match Venezuela vs. Guatemala will begin at 8:00 PM ET.
Like Venezuela, Panama’s training began on Saturday for Tuesday’s match against the Vinotinto. For that game Panama’s Head Coach, Colombian Hernan Dario “Bolillo” Gomez, included Miguel Camargo (Mineros de Guayana, VEN), Hécgar Murillo (Tauro FC, PAN) and Martin Gomez (San Francisco FC, PAN).
Later, they will be joined by “internationals” Blas Perez, Anibal Godoy and Alberto Quintero, who are active in the U.S. MLS teams and Gabriel Torres. They will join the squad on May 27 in Denver (Colorado) for a game against Brazil on May 29 scheduled for the city of Denver.
